For quite some time, the use of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) has been particularly increasing in the automotive environment, and the high-performance capabilities of the new composites industry have also grown very dynamically. This development is reflected at the JEC show in Paris – the world-leading trade fair for the fiber composite industry – which will be held at the Paris Exhibition Center Villepinte for the first time in 2016, to accommodate the increasing number of visitors and exhibitors.
XPERION will use the JEC world 2016 as a platform to showcase the lightweight design series-production competence of the AVANCO Group, which has grown considerably in the past years, to the broad public. Exhibits such as the CFRP drive shaft of the new BMW M3, the CNG pressure tank in the VW Golf and Audi A3 or the thermoplastic CFRP profiles from the Boeing Dreamliner, Airbus A330, etc. will all be on display. Through this, XPERION will prove the series production suitability of CFRP and semifinished products, in the extremely cost-sensitive automotive and aviation markets, and thus the high-performance capability of the group of companies to handle applications with annual volumes in the order of 104 – up to 105 for thermoplastics.
